i am really excited to announce that i can now offer your first class free with me, if you are new to the studios i am teaching at.

My schedule is posted on my tribe page - and the owners of Karuna Yoga and Bala Yoga (beautiful folks) have both agreed to let me invite students to take my first class free. If you want a free class pass, please let me know and i will get it in your hands.

I am happy to invite all of Los Angeles to check out what i do - these classes are all Introductions to Ashtanga Yoga - they are beneficial for all levels of practitioners. If you are an advanced student, i guarantee you will learn something new about your primary series practice in my class - if you have never done yoga before, i can work with you to get the most out of this experience by increasing your sensitivity and awareness in each breath and getting your body moving in a way that is appropriate for your level. I am also experienced in working with folks who are dealing with injuries – illnesses or extremely stressful situations.

I am hoping to be teaching mysore style ashtanga yoga soon here in LA - and i am looking for a space in downtown LA or near Hollywood to start an afternoon practice where i can work simultaneously with students of all levels on cultivating a consistent daily practice... if you know of a good space, please let me know!

And while i have your attention - i am actively seeking to WORK. Teaching yoga in LA town pays very very little and gas just keeps getting more expensivo. I am happy to work privately with anyone who wants to learn ashtanga yoga - i am an excellent Raw Food counselor - Intuitive Coach - structural Bodyworker and teacher of meditation and pranayama. If you need me and i can help you lets find a way to work together!

As a former studio owner (in Chicago) i am keenly aware of the hard work and sacrifice that it takes to keep a studio going and to bring yoga to our communities. Support your local Yoga Studio!!! and Bala is a good place to direct some of that suport.

So come and check out my class - this is a level 2 class, but i invite students of all levels to attend, from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners. There will be information for everyone. My classes are a unique blend of traditional teachings, self study, and healing rest. Be prepared to work hard and relax deeply.

Hi friends,

As many of you know, last year i sold my yoga studio
in Chicago, fell in love, and moved to LA. This has been a pretty bumpy transition for me, and teaching yoga has been on the backburner. For most of this last year, I haven’t worked at all. And there have been many moments where i have wondered what was next for me.

Then, in the last few weeks, I traveled down to Costa
Rica, where I worked with lovely, dedicated students, to teach a yoga workshop that I had planned last year.
And I was reminded, very clearly, that this work, teaching Ashtanga yoga, is my work. It felt great to teach - and now i feel hungry to get back to it. And hungry is not just a metaphor......I need to make some money, it is time to get back on track!

So I wanted to announce to my friends and family – to really say out loud to the universe that I am ready to work, send some my way!

I am happy to work with anyone at any level. I can teach to advanced ashtanga yoga students as well as beginners who are interested in developing a steady yoga practice, and I love to teach meditation, pranayama and to work with people who are battling or recovering from any sort of health issues.

I have taught yoga to students dealing with severe injuries – using one arm or no arms, and I have taught to students who were terminally ill. I have worked with a host of celebrities as well, which everyone keeps telling me is important in LA.

While my main focus is to create private sessions, I am also open to working with small groups. If you have a friend, or 3 or 5 who want to come together to learn this practice in a safe and effective way, I will work with the group.

In addition to yoga sessions, I am also available to do nutritional coaching sessions, working within the framework of raw food nutrition. I have helped people 'redo' their kitchens, I have taught raw food preparation classes on a variety of topics, and I can combine this sort of coaching with yoga and my other skills as an intuitive coach.

Currently, I am living in downtown LA. And, at least right now, I am willing to drive anywhere in the LA area to work. My fee is $100 for a private, running one hour and 15 minutes. And I will work on a sliding scale for anyone in need, who cannot afford my fee. I am also interested in trade, although right now what I need most are groceries (organic produce) and gas – so if you can trade me for some really basic survival stuff, I am open.

At this point in time, creating work is my focus – send me any ideas or possibilities. I find tribe to be an amazing forum for creating community and supporting each other. If you have a friend or a relative who you feel might benefit from my skills, please feel free to forward them my information(ashtangachicago@yahoo.com). I greatly appreciate the support I find here and hope that I can be of service in this community.

peace and love

NOAH MAZÉ, NAIME JEZZENY, AND SCOTT LEWICKI

This six weekend intensive Anusara Yoga Studies and Teacher Training Program will take your yoga practice to deeper and deeper levels. This program is transformative and has the potential to impact not only your yoga practice and teaching, but also your life. We will cover an extensive curriculum of all of the principles and practices of Anusara Yoga such as asana (postures), pranayama (breath work), meditation, yoga philosophy and mythology, and the art and technique of teaching. This Anusara Yoga Studies and Teacher Training Program will consist of two phases: Phase 1, Immersion in Anusara Yoga (level 1). Phase 2, The Art of Teaching Anusara Yoga (level 1). Each weekend will include 14 hours of instruction from Friday evening through Sunday. In addition, there will be a few hours of home practice and homework given after each weekend.

Phase 1: This is an intensive-style, experiential deepening of all of the aspects of Anusara Yoga. Over three full weekends we will fully immerse ourselves in connections of Body, Mind and Heart through the joyful and profound practices and principles of this yoga. Asana (postures), pranayama (breath), and meditation will be explored in depth. Our philosophy curriculum will include the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana. Some prior Anusara Yoga knowledge and experience is recommended, as well as an open heart, attentive mind, and willing body. One does not have to want to be a teacher to participate in Phase 1.

Phase 2*: How does one share with others what is deeply profound and life enriching? Over the next three weekends, we will build upon the foundation of Phase 1, and expand into the Art of Teaching, Level 1. Becoming a great yoga teacher requires a willingness to deeply delve into one’s own authentic nature, a process of effortful practice, personal joyful exploration and continual transformation. This Anusara Teachers’ Training offers a setting and structure for you to become such a teacher. We will learn and practice the techniques and methodology of teaching Anusara Yoga. Curriculum includes: proper postural instructions, sequencing, developing and using themes and philosophy, speaking from the heart, observation skills, physical adjustments and assisting, intro to Therapeutics, and use of props and modifications.

All hours will apply to Anusara Yoga Certification and Yoga Alliance Certification. There will be further training and mentoring opportunities following this program.

Noah and Naime are widely recognized and sought out as some of the most experienced and proficient practitioners, teachers, and teacher trainers in the Anusara Yoga system. They teach extensively together all over the country and make a dynamic and powerful team. They are delighted to teach with guest teacher Scott Lewicki, and his experience and wisdom will greatly enhance the program. (See our website for complete bios.) *Completion of Phase 1 is a requirement for participation in Phase 2. Qualified individuals may be able to petition the instructors to proceed

PHASE ONE: Immersion into Anusara Yoga explores all aspects of Anusara Yoga, including the Universal Principles of Alignment. This is a workshop based immersion and will include many joyful hours of yoga (asana) practice each weekend. Weekends 2006 (plus Friday evenings): January 27-29; February 3-5; February 17-19
We’ll focus on:
- Embodying the principles of Alignment
- Philosophy underlying Anusara Yoga
- Breathing Techniques (Pranayama) Anusara Style
- Therapeutic applications of Universal Principles of Alignment
- Transforming your yoga practice and yourself

PHASE TWO: The Art of Teaching Anusara Yoga explores how to become a more effective and inspirational teacher. You must complete Phase I or obtain special permission to take this section of the training. Weekends 2006: March 3-5; March 10-12; March 17-19
